Meatballs, bacon-wrapped cheese sticks, chicken wings: All these popular appetizers are mostly keto-friendly, but you may need to adjust the sauce or the way you cook them. Either way, don’t worry. If you’re looking to do some low-carb entertaining, this list has plenty of options.
1. Keto Taco Cups
With fewer than two net carbs each and bursting with spicy flavor, these keto taco cups are the ultimate appetizer. Plus, they take very little time and effort to make.
2. Keto Spinach Artichoke Dip
As long as you serve it with plenty of low-carb veggies, this spinach artichoke dip is the perfect gluten-free, keto-friendly dip. It’s cheesy, garlic-y, spinach-y, and incredibly delicious.
3. Keto BLT Dip
If you love dips but artichokes aren’t your thing, try this BLT dip instead. It’s an easy way to enjoy all the yumminess of a BLT without the carbs from the bread. Thanks to the onion powder, garlic, and paprika, it’s a little bolder than a traditional BLT, but that only adds to its appeal.
4. Keto Garlic Bread
Covered in gooey mozzarella cheese and featuring the intense flavors of garlic and Italian seasoning, garlic bread is an easy favorite. However, it’s a huge no-no on keto, right? Not if you make it with almond flour! This yummy bread has only three net carbs per serving and tastes every bit as good as “the real thing.”
5. Dill Veggie Dip
If you’re looking for something creamy, cool, and just a bit zesty, this dill veggie dip is just the thing. You’ll only need eight ingredients to make it, and you can whip it up in 5 minutes.
6. Zucchini Tots
Tater tots are another thing people on keto think they have to give up, but this recipe proves you only have to swap out the potatoes for zucchini, and you’re good to go. These tots are crispy, flavorful, and you can make them in the oven or the air fryer.
7. Keto Meatballs
These amazingly juicy meatballs are both keto-friendly and gluten-free. You can serve them alone as appetizers or add them to your favorite faux-pasta dish. They’re especially good with the keto garlic bread.
8. Keto Queso
This queso is spicy, herby, and of course, delightfully cheesy. Serve it with veggies, keto chips, pork rinds, or homemade cheese crisps for a delicious low-carb snack you can share.
9. Bacon-Wrapped Cheese Sticks
All you’ll need to make these zero-carb bites of heaven are string cheese sticks and bacon. If you’re looking for filling fat bombs that’ll blow everyone’s minds, these are the appetizers for you.
10. Keto Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip
As you probably guessed, I love dips. They’re just so quick and easy to make and keep keto-friendly. This one combines sour cream, ranch dressing mix, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and dill for a rich, smooth dip with just a tiny kick of zestiness.
11. Bacon-Wrapped Zucchini Fries
These are greasy, decadent, and perfect for keto dieters. They have only three net carbs per serving, and they’re surprisingly filling. You won’t need more than a few to fill your tummy.
12. Keto BLT Bites
They should call these BAT bites, but that might turn people off somewhat. Made with bacon, avocado, and tomatoes with a cucumber slice for “bread,” these are tasty, crunchy, and extremely low-carb.
13. Guacamole
Guacamole dip is naturally low-carb, but this is guacamole with a twist. It’s full of yummy ingredients like tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno, and red onions. The jalapeno adds a bit of heat, and the onions help strengthen the already bold flavor. Serve it with your favorite keto chips. Pro tip: Grab a pack of Ole Mexican Xtreme High Fiber tortillas (four net carbs each) and use them to make homemade tortilla chips.
14. Buffalo Chicken Dip
Want your veggies to taste like buffalo chicken wings dipped in bleu cheese dressing? This buffalo chicken dip can make it happen. Don’t forget the green onions and bleu cheese crumbles for a garnish. They make it extra yummy.
15. Keto Avocado Fries
Although I prefer the zucchini fries, these avocado fries are a good option if you’re looking for something crunchy with a slightly milder flavor.
16. Keto Cheesy Sausage Dip
People have all kinds of names for this dip, and I’m pretty sure one of them is “Crockpot crack” because it’s so good. All you’ll need to make it is sausage, tomatoes, jalapenos, cream cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese. You can make it in a stove-top skillet in less than 30 minutes.
17. French Onion Dip
French onion dip is one of my all-time favorites, and this is an excellent recipe for it. Although the recipe doesn’t require it, I like to add in a bit of onion powder to increase the oniony-ness of the dip. I throw a few green onions on top, as well. (I love onions.)
18. Buffalo Cauliflower Bites
Both paleo- and keto-friendly, these cauliflower bites are full of flavor and supremely crispy. They take about 35 minutes to make and taste great served with blue cheese dip.
19. Cheesy Cauliflower Breadsticks
These cheesy cauliflower breadsticks don’t taste the same as the garlic bread above, but they taste just as good, only different. If you like a lot of flavor, you can also add a dash of Italian seasoning.
20. Ham and Dill Pickle Appetizer Bites
Easy to make and no cooking required, these bites are usually the first things to go at any get-together I have. The sourness of the pickle tastes terrific when paired with the saltiness of the ham and the smooth cream cheese. They really do go fast, though, so you might want to double the recipe.
21. Smoked Salmon Cucumber Bites
These bite-sized mouthfuls have only 80 calories and 2.2 carbs per serving, and a single serving is four bites! They’re tasty, healthy, and have a unique flavor that’s unlike any other finger food you’ve tried.
22. Garlic Dipping Sauce
I couldn’t keep posting all these garlic bread recipes without giving you something to dip them in! If you love Papa John’s garlic sauce, you’ll love this copycat recipe. I think it tastes even better than the original.
23. Low-Carb Onion Rings
Anyone who loves onions as much as I do would have a hard time giving up onion rings, even for keto. So it should come as no surprise that I searched until I found a way to keep enjoying them. The secret? Coconut flour and heavy whipping cream. These onion rings are crispy, herby, and have just a hint of cheesiness, thanks to the parmesan. I like to dip mine in one of the many keto ice creams we make in the summer. Yes, ice cream. Don’t knock it until you try it!
24. Keto Roasted Cauliflower Hummus
Hummus is another favorite snack that many dieters think they have to give up for keto. But as long as you make it with cauliflower instead of chickpeas, you’re good. This hummus tastes like traditional hummus – a little garlicky with that delicious Tahini flair – but you can adjust the recipe to fit your favorite hummus varieties.
25. Buffalo Chicken Wings
What kind of appetizers list would this be without chicken wings? These wings are tender and delicious, and the buffalo sauce has just the right amount of kick. Best of all, they only take 10 minutes to prepare. Then you can pop them in the slow cooker and let it do its thing. Click on a star to rate it!
